RULES and REGULATIONS
of the «Pro-Am Championship Switzerland 2017»

The championship is held in strict accordance with the present RULES and REGULATIONS.
The organizers and all the tournament participants undertake the responsibility to act in accordance with the present RULES and REGULATIONS.
Definition of a ProAm:
The term “ProAm” refers to any dancing couples that consist of a Teacher (Pro) and a Student (Am)
A ProAm Student dancer does not teach Ballroom/Latin/American Smooth/American Rhythm.
ProAm competitions will not offer any level divisions. To be eligible to enter you must be of beginner level and above.
The following categories are included in the competition: Single dance, Multi dance and Scholarship. During the Single dance events, both women and men students compete separately. During Single dance and Multi dance events, the adjudicators mark the students.
VIP Showcases will be presented in «no contest» system in the evening session.
A VIP Showcase photo of participants will be printed in a festival booklet as bonus, when provided.
Any student can perform in not more than 2 Showcases with the same Teacher in one session.
Competitions will be run in following dance styles and dances:
International Standard (Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep)
International Latin (Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Pasodoble. Jive)
American Smooth (Walts, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz)
Argentine Tango Salon (Tango, Vals, Milonga)
The age is defined by the age of a Student (Am).
Single Dance and Multi Dances competitions will be held in following age groups:
Scholarship International Standard and International Latin competitions will be held in following age groups:
In American Smooth and Argentine Tango Scholarships all age groups will compete together.
Participants at Single Dance in age groups В and С (and also B+C), could also additionally dance in Single Dance at one younger age group.
Participants at Scholarship in age groups В and С (and also B+C) could also additionally dance in Scholarship at one younger age group.
Music Dance Time Rules
For International Latin and International Standard as well as for American Smooth music has to be played between 1:10 min and 1:30 min, except for
Viennese Waltz – between 1:00 and 1:20 min.
Paso Doble – up to second highlight..
Quickstep and Jive competitions – from 1:00 up to 1:30 minutes long
For Argentine Tango competitions – from 1:20 up to 2:00 minutes long..
If there is only one couple on the dance floor – 1:00 min.
Showcase should not be longer than 3 minutes in total from entering the dance floor up to exiting it by dancers (including «flash ending»). After 3 minutes of time music will be faded.

Registration and Entry Fees
A couple is counted as “registered” only then, when required registration form has been submitted in the specified time period and all the required payments have been made.
The latest deadline for Pro-Am Registration is April 16th 2017. Registration is open on the website www.hoverproduction.com since February 1st 2017.
The fees for the registration are the following:
Once registered and paid, but not present in the competition (haven’t arrived) no refunds will be provided to the couple. If the couple has, for any reason, made contact and informed the organizers about their cancelation after the Deadline, no payment refunds (including Packages, Entry tickets, entry fees etc.) will be provided back to the couple or person who paid. The organizers have the right to refuse registration without any explanation for any person or couple.
Only International level of Adjudicators with International License will be judging the event. During the competition, it is prohibited for adjudicators to talk with participating couples, give their remarks and opinions. It is also prohibited for adjudicators to discuss couples between themselves. Couples are not permitted to approach any judges and ask for their opinion or remarks. Adjudicators cannot comment on their marks. Couples must take marks as final and they are not under any discussions.
General rules of conduct
All participants (Professionals, Teachers and Students) must purchase the entry tickets to the ballroom (if buying the travel package – included). All competition participants must be in the ballroom at least 30 minutes before their heat start time, which are provided in the Heat Lists. The organizers do not have to stop the competition if a couple did not come on the dance floor for their heat. If the couple has missed their heat, no money will be returned. The organizer is not responsible and cannot be held liable for any personal belongings left in the ballroom, the changing rooms or any other Competition premises. Competition organizers are not liable and not responsible for any health problems or injuries during the event. This is solely risk of the participants.
In Multiple dance competitions (Multi dance and Scholarship), Student (AM) is to appear with one Teacher (PRO) in all dances, including this contest.
The participants are to remain on the floor until the music ends or otherwise may be disqualified.
If a couple does not dance a certain dance in the final, they will be marked last for that dance.
Penalties for violations (program violations, lifts etc.):
violation in first rounds: Warning from the Chairman
violation in following rounds: Annulment of all received points
violation in the final: Last place for the dance that contained the violation.
If after the beginning of the final event the participants have to pull out from the competition due to an illness or injury, they are automatically placed last in those dances they haven’t performed.
All competition results will be available in the Crown Cup Website www.hoverproduction.com not later than 7 working days after the competition. All printed results can be acquired only after the end of the competition and once they are confirmed by the Chairman of the Adjudicators. During the competition only the Chairman and the Secretary can view the results. Secretary does not have the right to print and provide any couple with the results during the event.
After the conclusion of Single and Multi dance competitions, all couples will receive Diplomas and organizer presents. Scholarship finalists will receive diplomas and first three coupes will receive diplomas and medals. The organizers have the right to award the couples with extra prizes and nominations.
